Our story

Yug means “an era”.

In Sanskrit, युग (yuga) is an era: an age of the world. I named my company after it on purpose.

Why name a company after an era?

I’m Virendra Vyas, a software engineer. I live and work in Eastbourne.

Most companies are named after what they sell. I named mine after how long I want it to last. I want to build something people still remember in decades, not months.

Every era leaves records behind. Who runs a company. What it has filed, and when. In the UK, a lot of that is public. But public isn’t the same as clear. That gap is where Yug Solutions works.

Why I started

For nearly a decade, my work has been connecting software to HMRC and other government APIs. I know where the data lives, how each service wants to be asked, and how much time disappears in between.

Because the answers people need are already public. They’re just scattered across separate government services, each with its own search, its own format and its own rules. So people copy and paste. One tab, then another, then another. A simple question about a company can swallow an afternoon.

I’ve always wanted to build something that gives people that time back. Not a small fix, but a real change in how everyday businesses work with public data.

I’d spent years building bridges to government data for other people. So I decided to build one that everyone could use.

That bridge is GovBridge: one place, one sign-in and one clear answer, instead of ten tabs. In 2024 I started Yug Solutions to build it.

My first product didn’t work. I said so.

Before GovBridge, I built NoteScope, a tool for UK financial advisers. I worked on it from 2024 into 2026.

It didn’t find customers. After three months of trying, not one client had signed up. So in September 2026 I closed it, and wrote down why, in public.

Keeping it running for show would have been the easy option, but not an honest one. The lesson was worth more than the product: solve a real problem, build carefully, and be honest about progress. GovBridge is built on that lesson.

What I believe

  1. Checking a company should take seconds. Not an afternoon of government websites.
  2. Plain English, always. If something can’t be explained simply, it isn’t finished yet.
  3. Say what works today, and what doesn’t yet. GovBridge publishes what works today, and this company keeps a public, dated log of what we’ve built. Nothing hidden: read the log →
  4. A real person answers, at a fixed price. You deal with me, and you know the price before any work starts.
  5. Independent, and made in the UK. We are not part of government and not endorsed by it. We just make its public records easier to use.

Where we’re going

I want UK public records to be easy to use for every business, not just the ones with a developer to hand. That’s the next era I have in mind.

GovBridge comes first. Making Tax Digital VAT filing is coming. Today it is in HMRC testing only, and we’ll keep saying so plainly until that changes.

Built for the next era of public data.

From the founder

Thank you for reading. If any of this sounds like a problem you have, tell me about it. You’ll get a reply from me, not a sales team.
